Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
Jesus is our salvation. He is the one who sets our spirit free. As followers of Jesus we are saved. "For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." (Romans 10:10). Jesus is the one who breaks the chains and sets us free. I'm not talking about freedom from struggles, disease, persecution, or any other thing we experience in our lives. Although it is possible for God to heal us, remove our struggles, and protect us, He may not. If fact, Jesus said in this world we will face trouble. Salvation doesn't promise a stress free live.
So, what does salvation promise? What are we saved from? Salvation promises an eternity with Jesus. Without salvation we are condemned to an eternity without God. This is hell. Forever separated from God with no opportunity to ever experience God's love, mercy, and grace. Faith in Jesus provides a way out of hell and into eternal life with with God. There is no other name under heaven in which we can be saved. You can try whatever you want, but your efforts will fall short. You can call on any name you so desire, but you'll still be condemned to eternal life without God. Faith in Jesus doesn't say your anxiety will go away, your depression will disappear, your terminal disease will be healed. Don't get me wrong, all things are possible with God and He could He miraculously heal you. But the goal of salvation is eternal life with our Creator.
In this world we will have trouble. But, is it really about this world? Or, is it about spending eternity with God. Being set free from a hell that anything on earth can't compare to. Salvation is about freeing us from an eternity without God. You think things are bad on earth? it doesn't compare to the experience of eternity separated from God's love. Salvation comes through Jesus.
