There is a raven that has been flying all day and is tired and thirsty.
He looks down to the ground and sees a pitcher filled with ice water. The crow swoops down and lands next to the pitcher.
He sticks his peak in the opening and realizes that his beak doesn’t fit down to where the water is.
He looks around and sees a bunch of pebbles strewn about. So he starts collecting them and dropping them into the pitcher.
With every pebble the raven drops, the water rises a little bit.
Pebble after pebble falls into the pitcher until the raven can reach the water and he finally gets his drink.
The moral of this story is patience.
It’s rare that we instantly get the things we want. Even if that’s what we’ve been conditioned to think.
True progress and true success are a series of small victories.
And after all of those small victories, you can finally drink your reward.
That’s how all the things in life that are worth fighting for, are won.
Pebble after pebble.
