Creator

God as a Creator takes us back to the first chapter of Genesis, the beginning of the Bible. If we are going to look at who God is we must know where the relationship between God and creation began. Prior to this time there was God. Without Him there is nothing. God created and sustains all things. The prophet Isaiah sums it up by saying, “This is what God the Lord says— the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out, who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it” (Isaiah 42:5). God turned nothing into something, and that something was crowned with God’s greatest creation, us.

The power of God is first displayed in creation. God created everything, except humans, by speaking them into existence. That’s it, God spoke and it happened. People who contribute our universe to the Big Bang Theory are partially correct. However, to deny that there is a Creator falls short. I will not discredit the Big Bang Theory because in the beginning God spoke, and bang, all things came into existence. Science that denies God as the Creator will never discover the origin of creation. They can knock at the door, but until science recognizes God as the source its answers will be insufficient. So what ignited the Big Bang? God’s word.

So we see God as a Creator. Everything about creation was planned out down to the most minute detail. What appears to be chaos to us has structure and order. Nothing is by accident. Tornadoes, hurricanes, gravity, the size and rate of spin of the earth. Genesis tells us that God created human beings out of the dust of the earth. “Then the Lord God formed a man[c] from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” (Genesis 2:7). Have you ever pondered the human body? Our bodies have the same composition as dirt. If you don’t believe it, just look at the vitamin and mineral supplements available today. Take these supplements and compare them to the dust of the earth. The results might surprise you.

God’s creativeness did end with the first few chapters in Genesis. God didn’t just stop creating. He continues creating today and will be creating for all eternity. Our lives are being created every single day. The decisions we make will create certain results. God wants to create something special in our lives. He wants to take our hardships, struggles, and mistakes and create something out of them. However, we must be willing to allow HIm. God doesn’t need our permission to create what He wants. However, he does want our cooperation. God wants to partner with us to create opportunities we would never dream of. God is the masterful Creator who can turn nothing into something.
