There are a lot of things in this world that seem impossible to believe. Things that no logic can’t explain. There are things that happen in life that scientists, physicians, and other experts have no answers for. Yet, they continue their search for those elusive answers. Why? Because faith that they will find answers drive them to continue in their quest. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” The search for things is exactly this. It is a confidence and assurance in what we don’t see. It is also why we believe in Jesus, whom we have never seen.
Hebrews 11:3 says, “By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.” It takes faith to believe that God created all things by simply speaking them into existence. It also takes faith to believe that all existence is the result of the Big Bang and evolution. In my opinion it’s a stretch to believe that a complex world evolved out of nothing. To believe that such complexity could exist due to a series of chances is faith wrongly applied. It’s by faith people believe this. And it is by faith that we believe God spoke all things into existence. Our faith is that what is seen was not made out of what is visible. Instead, what we see comes out of the Word of God.
Let me ask you this question, what caused the scientific theory of the Big Bang? Has science really answered this question? So, the Big Bang happened out of nothing. One day out of nowhere, out of nothing, there was an explosion that put the creation of all things in motion. The question we need answers to is this: where did those elements come from? How did nothing create such a violent explosion and generate the right conditions to create all that exists? It couldn’t. So, in faith we believe that God is responsible for creating what we see, and He did it by His spoken words. Faith? Absolutely! It takes a lot of faith to believe in many things that we choose to believe. Creation is one of them. Faith is the most important element of life. Where we place our faith is key. By faith I believe God exists, Jesus is God in human form. Faith says Jesus walked this earth, died on a cross for our sins, was resurrected three days later, and is now sitting at the right hand of God the Father. This is faith that pleases God.
